Why does the organist play after Mass?

Patrick Torsell does a great job as Music Director of Mater Dei parish, and FSSP parish in Harrisburg PA.

In his latest video he addresses a question which I have been asked and offers a good response.

I would add that liturgical organ music, or its absence is a way of communicating the character of a season or particular Mass or office. Just as the veiling of images provides a stark difference between Passiontide and Easter, so too the glory and majesty of organ music creates a different liturgical experience to the absence of the organ during Advent, Lent and the Requiem Mass.
